Woman Struck By School Bus In Critical Condition: Philly Police

A 75-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a school bus on a Philadelphia street, police announced on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The woman was walking west on Chelten Avenue in the crosswalk at Chew Avenue at 3:01 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

At the same time, a school bus was going east in the 5700 block of Chelten Avenue and making a left turn onto Chew Avenue, police said. That's when the bus struck the woman in the crosswalk.

The woman was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center by Philadelphia Fire Department medics where she was placed in critical condition, according to police.

No one on the school bus reported any injuries, police said.

The Crash Investigation Division is actively investigating the incident, according to police.
